O Vírus da Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave 2 (SARS-CoV-2), anteriormente denominado de forma provisória 2019-nCoV, é um vírus RNA de cadeia simples positiva. É contagioso entre seres humanos e é a causa da doença COVID-19, da qual existe uma pandemia em curso.
